About the Journal
Overview
The advent of new technologies and growing recognition of the enormous degree of microbial diversity has revolutionized our understanding of microbiology as a discipline. Microbiology is moving into a new era that focuses less on specific organisms and more on the processes and mechanisms that link them. Trends in Clinical Microbiology provides a multidisciplinary forum for the discussion of all aspects of microbiology: from cell biology and immunology to genetics and evolution, and ranges across virology, bacteriology, protozoology and mycology.
Aim and Scope
Trends in Clinical Microbiology publishes the most current research on the microbiological aspects of human and animal infections and infestations, with emphasis on their etiologic agents, diagnosis, and epidemiology. Sections include: Bacteriology, Chlamydiology and Rickettsiology, Mycobacteriology and Aerobic Actinomycetes, Mycology, Parasitology, Virology, Clinical Veterinary Microbiology and Epidemiology. Studies that include genetic, biochemical, biophysical, bioinformatic and structural analysis leading to a deeper understanding of the molecular principles underlying basic physiological processes or mechanisms are considered as potentially suitable for publication in the journal.
The journal serve the scientific community by publishing articles on developments in clinical microbiology and immunology, providing an excellent and timely overview of topics of concern to microbiologists, immunologists, epidemiologists, pathologists, public health workers, and infectious disease specialists. Trends in Clinical Microbiology publishes the highest-quality reviews and perspectives highlighting important developments in our understanding of bacteria, viruses, fungi and protozoa, their interaction with their environments.
