This study examines the successful use of early oral stepdown therapy with tedizolid in 2 cases of Staphylococcus aureus endocarditis in intravenous drug users. While oxazolidinones are not recommended as initial therapy, tedizolid may offer convenient oral step-down therapy once the patient is stabilized with intravenous antibiotics and surgery.
